Angie’s Story About Healing Rheumatoid Arthritis
Five years ago, I didn’t feel comfortable leading trips like this, although my soul longed to share this beautiful, sacred land with others. I had been on two journeys working with the Apus (Mountain Spirits) and the Santa Tierras (Feminine land spirits) in 2017 & 2018, and both of those experiences had provided immense growth and healing.
As happens sometimes, rapid ascension leads to a shedding of what no longer serves your highest good. Relationships, jobs, habits and places may fall away. If you resist this process, things can get dicey, to say the least. So it went with me for the next few years, and also for the collective of humanity with the pandemic, natural disasters, and global civil unrest. I resisted letting go of a marriage that was no longer working. I believe hanging onto this contributed to my life-altering diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis in late 2019.
I was told I would need to be on immune suppressing medications for life, and would have a decreased life-span, with significant disability and severe pain being likely. I have never given up easily, but RA is a formidable opponent! I spend 18 months trying to cure my RA with diet, energy medicine, ceremony, mindset, supplements and exercise. My symptoms improved, but I wasn’t able to discontinue those terrible meds, and I lived in fear of having flares that could stop me in my tracks.
In 2022, I heard the call of Grandmother Ayahuasca for the first time. My purpose and my soul called me back to Peru to sit in ceremony with Ayahuasca. She shook that arthritis out of my joints. I found deeper levels of emotional healing and compassion. I experienced shamanic death and rebirth.
My experience included 3 aya ceremonies and 1 Sapo (toad medicine) ceremony. I believe each ceremony played a part in my healing. I also believe that participating the Apus sessions the following week completed the healing. That is why I am offering this format: 3 aya ceremonies included and the Sapo medicine available as an addon. I also know having scientific evidence can matter so much. (My lab work proved my healing.) For your mind to know how you have healed, I recommend the Brain-Mapping options. Participating in Apu Sessions (available in The Journey of the Apus Trip that follows this one) is the best way I know to raise your energy to the level you will need to support and integrate your healing with Ayahuasca.
When I came home, I didn’t need the meds anymore. That was over three years ago, and I have been symptom-free since. I no longer have to fear crashing and being unable to take excellent care of you when we go to Peru. I can hike the sacred sites and mountains with more ease, despite being older.
This journey isn’t just about travel. It’s about unbelievable transformations. If you are ready to heal what ails you…I invite you to join me for The Journey Within: An Ayahuasca Retreat in the Sacred Valley 2026. Let’s find your miracle healing with Grandmother Aya. Preparation and integration matters. Being held in sacred space with integrity and safety matters. Let me make sure you have the right setting for this medicine and the support needed to make it count.
